BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis was born on 22 July 1970, He is 48 years old.

Fadnavis received his initial schooling from Indira Convent, named after then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. During the Emergency, Fadnavis’ father, Gangadhar, a member of the Jan Sangh, was incarcerated for participating in anti-government protests.

He did not want to attend a school named after the Prime Minister he held responsible for jailing his father so he refused to continue his schooling at Indira Convent.

He then transferred to the Saraswati Vidyalaya school, where he received most of his schooling. After completing ten years of schooling, Fadnavis attended Dharampeth Junior College for his intermediate.

After completing his 12th standard, he enrolled at Government Law College, Nagpur, for a five-year integrated law degree, and graduated in 1992.

Fadnavis also has a post-graduate degree in Business Management and a diploma in Methods and Techniques of Project Management from DSE, Berlin.

Amruta Fadnavis got married to Devendra Fadnavis in December 2005. It was an arranged marriage. They have a daughter named Divija Fadnavis. During Assembly election of Maharashtra in the year 2014, she actively campaigned for her husband in Nagpur.

As a banker, She is working with Axis Bank since last 14 years. She joined as Executive – cashier & currently working as Vice President – Corporate Head West India, Transaction Banking Department.

His political career began in the mid-nineties. His personal ideology is that ‘Politics is an instrument for socio economic change’ and his political career of 25 years so far reflects the same.

Later he has essayed multiple leadership roles for both his political party as well as an elected representative of the people of Nagpur, Maharashtra. As a college student, Fadnavis was an active member of ABVP. In the ABVP, he started as a grassroots worker.

Fadnavis was born on 22 July 1970 in Nagpur. His father, Gangadhar Fadnavis, served as a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council from Nagpur.

His mother, Sarita Fadnavis, who is a descendant of the Kaloti family of Amravati, was the former Director of Vidarbha Housing Credit Society.

He won his first municipal election from Ram Nagar ward. Five years later Fadnavis became the youngest mayor of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation and became the second youngest mayor in the history of India.

Later he has been elected Member of the Legislative Assembly of Maharashtra State, representing Nagpur, since 1999 and is serving his 4th Term as of 2014.

In his many years as a representative of the people in the Maharashtra State Assembly, he has been a part of several committees.

Soon new BJP MLAs selected Fadnavis as their leader in a meeting in the presence of party’s central observers. Maharashtra Governor sworn Fadnavis as the chief minister of Maharashtra on 31 October 2014.
